On November 22nd, New York City’s creative community gathered for Creatives for Freedom, a powerful benefit concert in support of the ACLU. The evening was a reminder that music, art, and culture continue to play a vital role in protecting civil rights, freedom of expression, and LGBTQIA+ communities across the country.
The concert was headlined by the iconic Sheryl Crow, with unforgettable performances by St. Vincent, Maggie Rogers, Mon Rovîa, and Mark Ronson. Each artist brought their own energy to the stage, creating a night that felt both celebratory and deeply meaningful. The crowd reflected the heart of New York City—diverse, creative, and united around a shared belief in equality and justice.
As an LGBTQIA+ content creator based in NYC, being in a space where creativity met activism felt especially powerful. Events like Creatives for Freedom showed how artists and allies can come together to support organizations like the ACLU, whose work continues to protect voting rights, bodily autonomy, freedom of speech, and LGBTQIA+ protections nationwide.
And because no great NYC event is complete without a little joy, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream was served, and it was absolutely delicious. A small but memorable detail that added warmth and sweetness to an already inspiring night.
Creatives for Freedom was more than a concert—it was a statement. A reminder that showing up, supporting one another, and using our voices still matter. In times like these, community remains our strongest form of resistance.
