I attended one of my favorite summer parties of the year a few weekends ago; Diner en Blanc. Originally started in France as a small dinner party where an intimate group of guests would get together at a private residence dressed in all-white to celebrate the end of summer, now, Diner en Blanc is held in many major cities across the world and has grown to a guest list of over 3,500 attendees!
In its third year in Washington, DC, Diner en Blanc was held in one of the most iconic locations in the United States; The Lincoln Memorial. Needless to say the views were spectacular. Since dress code requires that you wear all-white and since I'm still currently loving everything Club Monaco is coming out with lately, most of my outfit, including the Converse sneakers are from the local store in Georgetown. My shirt is a light seersucker fabric and the chinos were a great pairing to make sure I dressed up the look. I wanted to add a few detailed accents to my look by using a J.Crew tie as the belt, a silver chain link watch from Tommy Hilfiger and some classic Ray-Ban shades.
Now, I know what you're asking yourself. How do you get invited to such an event? Well, you'll need to make sure you're friends with someone who attended this year as you can only be extended an invitation from someone who has previously attended, so start asking around and make sure to grab an invite to the event next year!
